Introducing the R.A.M 1000: a high-quality monitor controller inspired by classic European console designs occupying a small foot print so you can keep your monitors and your ears right where you need them.


The R.A.M 1000 features an attractive Marconi-style 24-step rotary switch for volume as opposed to cheaper stereo potentiometers, which means the precision of your stereo signal is perfect at every position! The R.A.M 1000 also has no insertion loss, so there’s no extra coloration or signal loss at any settings.

In spite of its simple layout the R.A.M 1000 actually offers lots of features that’ll make sure it earns its place and stays put at the center of any studio or creative workplace.

With two sets of fully balanced analog inputs and outputs and a high quality headphone output there are sufficient connectors to ensure you can monitor exactly what you need to.

Plus, there is also a Bluetooth input with all the latest CODECS to make sure the highest quality audio is always available. With the R.A.M 1000 it is now possible to simultaneously select any and/or all the INPUTs and OUTPUTs at any given time for even more flexibility. Add to all of this the ubiquitous MUTE, DIM & MONO buttons and a new helpful INPUT LEVEL meter and the result is an all-in-one complete professional monitoring solution.

The R.A.M 1000 is conveniently armed with a universally popular USB-C connector for its powering making it usable everywhere.
 
To make things even more flexible…there is now an option to allow the signal from OUTPUT 1 to work in two different modes: REC for recording or MON for monitoring. While in MON mode the output works as expected in a monitor controller, following any movements made with the MASTER LEVEL knob. But in REC mode, the output is not at all affected by any changes to the MASTER LEVEL. Any INPUTs selected will be sent on to the OUTPUT 1 in REC mode but will not vary at all in level, therefore being perfect for recording it into your DAW.

Absolutely color free volume controller

I've been using an old JBL RMC controller which is a digital device, very poor build quality and not transparent by any stretch of the imagination. The JBL was sitting between my Lynx Aurora and my Adam A7X's and was definitely the weakest link in my signal chain. The Baby R.A.M. is a perfect replacement since it's totally passive. Just think of it as a switch selectable pad for your powered speakers. It does NO coloration whatsoever and is so clean I'm going to get one for our commercial studio. I pre-ordered it months ago but it was well worth the wait. I also love the chicken-head knobs and color which matches my BAE 1073MP.//Paul

Great Little Unit

Great little unit. No added noise or coloration to signal chain. The knob feels cheap because it's cheap plastic but can easily be swapped out. Mono and Mute buttons sometimes pass slight crackles making it not entirely silent. But these sounds only occur when the button is pressed and it's quiet enough not to cause concern or bother.// Jf

Great for the price

This is a great piece for a small studio or home studio. It is crystal clear with no signal loss. It works very well, and having used many monitor controllers including the dangerous audio stuff, I think nothing comes close at this price point!// Craig

Transparent perfection

This is an excellent monitor control that does not color the sound. The knob turns easily and quietly and the switches have a nice solid feel. I read a lot of reviews of other gear and as passive monitor controls go this one seems to be the winner.// Bill from Lawrenceville

Much more flexible than Mackie

I picked this up because my sub's stereo outputs died and I could not feed my monitors from the sub. This little beast has a unique feature that lets you use both outputs at the same time. Simply push both output buttons at the same time and boom, you have two outputs feeding two different speakers. You could do the same for the inputs, but I would advise against it. The Baby Ram is very neutral and I could not hear any coloration. I liked my Mackie, but the Baby Ram is just a joy use and is more flexible. I got the B stock and it looked just like new. I highly recommend.// Steven

Much more than I’d bargained for!

I didn't really NEED one of these. I'd added one to a wish list awhile back as a "maybe eventually" luxury item. But when the happy confluence of a demo unit becoming available and me having funds to match, I decided to go for it. With my very first tracking session after acquisition, I immediately discovered this is no mere luxury item! Honestly, the main reason I was thinking to get one in the first place was to just not pop my monitors whenever the mixer came up, since I could never get those to synch nicely. So yes, the mute switch is a nice help. But then I didn't have any more excuses to not hook up the extra "trash can" monitors — and what a difference it makes being able to switch between those for knowing what's happening to my finals! Having another point I can route out from the mixer that I can switch in from source is also a nice bonus. But, as silly as it may sound, just having that Mono switch there is practically worth the cost and value alone! Being able to fold down the stereo mix, check my phasing, hear it in the trash cans, and all without having to screw with the mix config has improved my results dramatically, whilst also improving my workflow. Bottom line: if you are producing something you intend other people to listen to, you need something like this.// Stranger Pearl Productions
